Geography Postgraduate Scholarship from University of Manchester

University of Manchester England prepare postgraduate scholarship bursary of £2,000, which is automatically deducted from student’s fee at enrollment. The full 2009-10 Overseas Fee for Masters program within the discipline of Geography is £10,800. Must be used for full time study in the 2009-10 academic year. This funding is available to international students, including Indonesia student.
Bursaries are for study on Postgraduate Taught Masters within the discipline of Geography, as detailed below:

FULBRIGHT PROGRAMS FOR 2009 - 2010 STUDY YEAR AMERICAN INDONESIAN EXCHANGE FOUNDATION (AMINEF)
The American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) annually offers Fulbright scholarships to study in the United States. The primary focus of the Fulbright Program in Indonesia is to promote mutual understanding between the Republic of Indonesia and the United States of America through educational exchange and academic scholarship. Fulbright scholarships are available to Indonesian citizens with the appropriate qualifications as stipulated in the program descriptions listed below.


General Requirements for All Programs :
•Leadership qualities
•A good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
•A demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
•A willingness to return to Indonesia upon completion of the Fulbright program.

Important Required Testing Information
Degree student candidates must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE for all fields except Law and Business) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT for business administration, finance, accounting) if they are selected. It is recommended that applicants begin to familiarize themselves with the above test.

This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities to Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation. The grant duration is for a period of three to six months. Applicants should have a minimum TOEFL score of 575 to participate in this program.

Beasiswa UNSW PhD Student Completion Scholarship Australia

Beasiswa UNSW PhD Student Completion Scholarships are designed to enable PhD students in the final stages of their candidature, who have not received any scholarship or other financial support during their candidature, to spend uninterrupted time (up to 6 months) to complete their thesis. Up to 5 scholarships, valued at approx. $10,000 each were made available via a competitive application process for successful completion in Semesters 1 and 2 2009.

Duration and Funding

* Awards are available for six months
* Scholarships are tax-free and will be paid fortnightly in arrears to a value of half of the standard APA (ie approx $10,000)

Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration of the award of a completion scholarship, applicants must:
* not have previously held or be currently receiving any other scholarship (eg APA, APAI, EIPRS, Faculty or School scholarships) or any other form of financial support
* be a currently enrolled PhD student at UNSW
* enrol on a full-time basis in semester 2, 2009 (latest date for enrolment is 31 August 2009) and consistent with this enrolment status, work full-time on the thesis in semester 2, ie. devote 35-40 hours per week to candidature
* be in the writing-up stage and have completed their data collection or equivalent
* be able to complete their thesis in semester 2, 2009 and be able to submit their thesis for examination by no later than 31 March 2010
* have their applications supported by their supervisor and Postgraduate Coordinator confirming that the programme outline is realistic and expressing confidence that a submission by 31 March 2010 at the latest will be achieved
* have their application endorsed by the Head of School with an agreement that 50% of the scholarship will be repaid if the student fails to submit by 31 March 2010

Scholarship Applications
Applicants must lodge the UNSW PhD Student Completion Scholarship Application Form providing the following information to the Graduate Research School:

Part 1: Applicant’s Information – including a completion plan which clearly outlines how the Scholarship will be used to finalise the PhD, including information on:

* the sections of research that have already been completed at the time of application;
* the chapters that are in draft or final form;
* work that remains to be done to complete the PhD in the 6 months;
* a timetable indicating how the Scholarship period will be used to bring the PhD to submission for examination.

Part 2: Statements of Support

* Statement of support from the applicant’s supervisor – commenting on the applicant’s completion plan and whether the scholarship period will provide adequate time to bring the PhD to submission for examination.
* Statement of support from the School Postgraduate Coordinator – commenting on the proposed completion plan, and the likelihood that the PhD will be completed by the end of the Scholarship period based on the information provided by the applicant and supervisor.
* Endorsement by the Head of School – commenting on the proposed completion plan and agreeing to repay 50% of the scholarship should the scholarship holder fail to submit by 31 March 2010.

Note: The applicant is responsible for ensuring completion of the relevant sections by the supervisor, Postgraduate Coordinator and Head of School and submitting the completed application to the Graduate Research School by the specified closing date.

Assessment
Applications will be reviewed by an Assessment Committee comprising the Dean of Graduate Research and two Associate Deans for Research/Research Training from relevant Faculties.
Assessment will be based on the:

* quality of the application
* completion plan and the likelihood of the thesis being completed and submitted for examination by 31 March 2010
* statements of support and endorsement from the supervisor, Postgraduate Coordinator and Head of School

Successful applicants will be notified on 14 July 2009.

Conditions of the Scholarship
Successful applicants will be required to sign an acceptance form agreeing to the following:

* Successful applicants will be required to enrol full-time in semester 2, 2009 (latest date 31 August 2009).
* Leave of absence will not be available during semester 2 unless there are exceptional circumstances.
* During the term of the scholarship, progress must be monitored on a regular basis by the supervisor, in accordance with timelines outlined in the completion plan.
* Failure to make satisfactory progress in line with the timeline may result in the cessation of scholarship payments.
* Lodgement of a Notification Of Intention To Submit thesis form is required by 1 December 2009.
* Completion of a mid-Scholarship report on progress made by 1 December 2009. In this report applicants will need to document the progress made and indicate the timetable for submission by the thesis deadline date of 31 March 2010. The Supervisor will need to confirm the details indicated in the report by signing the form before it is returned to the Graduate Research School. Failure to submit the form by 1 December 2009 will result in immediate cessation of the Scholarship.
* Submission of the thesis for examination is required by 31 March 2010.

Application for the Singapore Scholarship must be submitted on the prescribed application form (The application form and supporting documents must be of A4 size and printed on one side only). Please contact the Singapore Embassy/High Commission/Consulate-General in your capital city for a copy of the Singapore Scholarship brochure and application form. Applicants will be required to submit a typed-written essay of about 300-500 words. The essay is an important part of your application.
All supporting documents have to be attached. Those supporting documents that are not in English must have a certified translation in English. Translation and certification of transcripts and academic records have to be done by your educational institutions.

SMA Negeri Internasional Sumatera Selatan - Sampoerna Academy di Propinsi Sumatera Selatan membuka pendaftaran bagi maksimum 150 siswa baru untuk tahun ajaran 2009/2012. Fullbright-Freeport Master’s Degree Program AMINEF

Fulbright grants for Master’s or PhD are available to Papuan residents in the following fields.: Metallurgy, Geology/ Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), Computer Science and Government/International Relations. Applicants will possess:

• KTP from Papua
• a Sarjana (S1) degree for Master’s Degree and S2 for PhD with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
• leadership qualities
• a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
• a demonstrated commitment to the chosen field of study
• a demonstrated commitment to the development and service of Papua
• willingness to return to Papua upon completion of the Fulbright program
• a minimum TOEFL score of 550 for Master’s Degree and 575 for PhD

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates should complete the appropriate application forms. Forms are available either by mail or in person at the AMINEF Office, Gedung Balai Pustaka, 6th floor, Jl. Gunung Sahari Raya 4, Jakarta 10720.

• Completed application form. This includes a clearly written and concise study objective.
• Copy of your most recent, less than two years old, TOEFL score report.
• One letter of reference, either from your current employer or previous lecturer.

ADB - Japan Scholarship Program, School of Design and Environment NUS National University of Singapore

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) - Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) was established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan. It aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB's developing member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. The ADB-JSP enrolls about 300 students annually in 20 academic institutions located in 10 countries within the Region.

School of Design and Environment is one of institution participating in this ADB-JSP scholarship program.

Below is program offered:
* Master in Environmental Management

SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION

The ADB-JSP provides full scholarships for one to two years.

* full tuition fees
* a monthly subsistence and housing allowance
* an allowance for books and instructional materials
* medical insurance
* travel expenses

The scholarship is for one year with an extension to the second year of study, as appropriate, which shall be conditional on the scholar maintaining a satisfactory level of performance as determined by the institute. The maximum duration of scholarship award is two years for masters and doctorate programs.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

* A national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship).
* Gained admission to an approved post graduate course in any of the participating academic institutions. (School of Design and Environment)
* A bachelor's degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.
* At least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience
* Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills to be able to pursue studies.
* Not more than 35 years old at the time of application.
* In good health.
* Should agree to return to his/her home county after completion of studies under the Program.
* Staff of participating academic institutions are not eligible for the Scholarship.
* Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for the Scholarship.
* Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of the other international organizations are not eligible for the Scholarship.
* Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for the Scholarship.

Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

Beasiswa ke Mesir

Berdasarkan isi Konferensi Press Kedutaan Besar Mesir Jakarta tentang tawaran
beasiswa Pemerintah Mesir Tahun 2009, kami informasikan hal-hal sebagai berikut:

1. Untuk Tahun 2009 ini, beasiswa dibagi dalam 2 bagian:

a. 120 Beasiswa dari Universitas al-Azhar Mesir, (Jumlah tidak pas dari
yang diucapkan);


1) 90 untuk Jurusan Agama jenjang S1;

2) 15 untuk tingkat SLTP/Menengah; dan

3) 20 untuk tingkat S2 dan S3.

b. 5 Beasiswa untuk jurusan umum di bawah kementrian Pendidikan Mesir.
(untuk jurusan Arsitektur, Kedokteran, dan Farmasi)

2. Untuk melakukan pendaftaran, dilakukan sbb:

a. Langsung melalui Kedutaan Mesir dengan mengajukan permohonan untuk
belajar di Mesir dengan melampirkan CV (Curiculum Vitae) yang menerangkan
identitas; nama, no. telp, HP serta menerangkan di mana yang bersangkutan
sekolah dan apa yang dipelajarinya;

b. Pelajar yang mengajukan beasiswa adalah dari lembaga/pesantren yang
telah mendapatkan pengakuan (Mu'adalah) dari al-Azhar;

c. Dikirim fax ke 021-3145073;

d. Pendaftaran dilakukan antara tgl 1 Mei s.d. 8 Mei 2009; dan

e. Tanggal 10 Mei 2009, akan dihubungi atau diumumkan melalui surat
kabar/TV untuk mengikuti ujian tulis dan lisan di Kedutaan secara berkelompok
daerah: Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, hingga Jakarta.

3. Materi yang akan diujikan adalah sbb:

a. Hafalan Al-Quran minimal 3 Juz (harus lulus);

b. Mu'amalat Fiqhiyah;

c. Siroh Nabawiyah;

d. Al-Hadits; dan

e. Yang terpenting bisa berbahasa Arab
